The 2023 TVET Leadership Programme on Digital Transformation, organized by the UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET at Shenzhen Polytechnic University, China, took place from November 13 to 18, 2023. The Programme aimed to equip TVET leaders worldwide with insights and strategies to promote and execute digital transformation in their respective institutions.
23 TVET leaders and professionals from 17 countries worldwide attended the event, representing a range of institutions, including the UNESCO Regional Office, national education authorities, TVET and higher education institutions, research institutes, and NGOs.

The Programme featured seven thematic sessions, including (1) Background and Strategies of Digital Transformation in TVET, (2) Digital Application Scenarios in TVET, (3) Trends and Methodologies of Digital Transformation in TVET, (4) Digital Transformation of TVET Programmes and Curricula, (5) Digital Transformation Practices via Public-Private Partnerships, (6) Development of Digital Learning Resources, and (7) Sharing of Institutional Digital Transformation Strategies.
Notable speakers included Mr. Robert Parua from UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office for East Asia, Prof. YANG Xinbin, Chairholder of UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET and Board Chairman of Shenzhen Polytechnic University, Prof. LI Yue, Vice President of Shenzhen Polytechnic University, Prof. YANG Wenming, Coordinator of UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET, and other experts, who brought valuable insights and discussed crucial topics in different sessions. In addition, site visits to SZPU’s training centres and Huawei Company provided first-hand knowledge and hands-on experiences about successful digital transformation practices and public-private partnership.

The event concluded with the presentation of Certificates of Participation by Dr. Xu Jianling, President of Shenzhen Polytechnic University, commemorating participants’ commitment and successful completion of the Programme.
