The China–ASEAN TVET Digital Capacity Building Centre, established at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) with the support of the UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET at Shenzhen Polytechnic University (SZPU) , successfully concluded its second capacity-building workshop, "Workshop for EdTech Education in TVET," on 22-23 October 2025. The event was jointly organized by SZPU through its UNESCO Chair on Digitalization in TVET and UTHM through its Centre for Virtual Learning, demonstrating the strong partnership between the two institutions in TVET across Asia.
The workshop attracted 43 participants from 13 TVET institutions across 3 countries, demonstrating the Centre's expanding regional influence. The workshop provided comprehensive training that combined cutting-edge digital applications with robust pedagogical frameworks. Through immersive sessions, participants engaged with key digital transformation strategies and tools. The curriculum covered digital transformation strategies for curriculum development, along with practical applications of AI-enhanced teaching, digital twins, and gamified learning. These sessions equipped educators with both strategic vision and technical skills needed to drive digital innovation in their institutions.

The workshop yielded significant outcomes, including enhanced digital competencies among participants and the establishment of a sustainable community of practice for sharing innovative teaching methodologies. The success of this collaboration between SZPU's UNESCO Chair and UTHM's Centre for Virtual Learning demonstrates how combined expertise can effectively support the digital transformation of TVET across the region.
This workshop has further consolidated the foundation for future initiatives under the China–ASEAN TVET Digital Capacity Building Centre, reinforcing both institutions' commitment to fostering a digitally empowered vocational education ecosystem.
